    • If money and power is your definition of "success," this book may motivate and help you a lot. It is not my definition and so I found it severely lacking. "No Success can compensate for failure in the home," said a famous LDS prophet and I think the breakdown of our society proves that true. Everyone has a diploma, but no one has a father. Everyone has a college degree, but no one has standards. Forget this book and read CS Lewis, or the scripture of your choice. You will get closer to "success" [...]

    • I simply couldn't. But, should you aspire to excise morality and boost income in your life, Frank Luntz has valuable experience to share with you. Luntz is the brilliant progenitor of the ubiquitous dissimulation that floats right-speak past an inattentive public (most famously - since Gingrich's contract on America.) This is one of three of his books that I attempted, but found to be less enlightening than long-winded auto-homages. There are better references on how to lead people to believe th [...]

    • "NYT Best-selling Author" is quickly becoming a warning of inevitable slop and pandering to us plebs. This book is garbage.

    • Win: The Key Principles to Take Your Business from Ordinary to Extraordinary by Frank I. Luntz was chosen by Soundview Executive Book Summaries as one of the Top 30 Business Books of 2011E SOUNDVIEW REVIEW:Best-selling author and top pollster Dr. Frank I. Luntz first gained popularity with his 2007 release Words that Work. That title offered a method for using the power of language to gain an edge in any situation. Luntz’s ability to harness the potential of language and channel it into a tool [...]

    • I checked this out since Kent and I get a little anxious when we think about possibly starting his own business. I'm glad I did. It reads somewhat like a textbook would sometimes. Lists and lists of aspects, attributes, goals, etc. I couldn't possibly memorize it. In summary, no success is considered a "win" without good principle. And a good company is patterned after Costco, a company that isn't driven by stock market values but by how great of a value they can give people. I liked reading cert [...]

    • I picked this up last week at the library and was very pleasantly surprised. A very informative and detailed book about how to achieve success in your life through better communication. Using the right words is very important and Dr. Luntz gives them all to us and explains why they work today. A very pleasant read. I especially liked this nugget: "It’s not what you say, it’s what they hear." Great book!

    • Luntz really synthesizes what it means to be a true winner in all aspects of life, not just business. Remembering that "accountability" is the single most important attribute is essential. There is no single standard of winning, no secret recipe - that presto - makes you a winner. However, there are many common traits and this book gives you the requisite steps to getting it right and becoming a true winner.

    • If you run a business and you've not picked up this book yet, you're already behind. An incredible at what makes people winners, not only in the business world but in life. With accounts from actors, politicians, CEOs, sports stars any and everyone you could imagine who is a winner in their field, Luntz weaves together a well thought out, organized look at what each of us need to take whatever organization we have or whatever life we lead and make it extraordinary.

    • This book pretty much confirmed about what I thought about "winners" although it mostly defined a winner as someone in the business realm, one could take the lessons learned here and apply them to others parts of life.It takes devotion and obsession to really succeed at anything. I will feel comfortable to obsess away.

    • As much as I admire Frank's work in wordsmithing, and the impact of words and phrases, this is a very marginal book. There are a few hints of his expertise, helpful in crafting a view, a statement, or understanding others from surveys and interviews, but generally, this is not a keeper. Glad it was free.

    • A bit too self-belly for me, and at the end his conservative slant leaks out a bit too much, but some fascinating insider stories about incredibly accomplished people in the world, and some really succinct observations on the power and importance of language and expression. Glad I read it. Thanks default Gabe!

    • Not having any interest in enhancing my business (I have none), I was drawn to this book as an analysis of how successful people use language. It was excellent! WIN is illuminating and useful to ANYONE -- its application is universal.

    • At first I thought it was going to be all about winning at business. Wrong! It's all about winning in life. Thanks Dr. Luntz. May we all live a principled life.

    • I have heard Frank Luntz numerous times on TV and was impressed with him so was anxious to read one of his books. I finally decided on this one. I really liked it.

    • Good insights on success as a leader in business, in politics, and in life. Makes you appreciate those we have even more.

    • Great look at what true winners do everyday and what makes them great. As the book says, it's not a self-help book but a help others book!
