    • Rating: 2 1/2 starsAlthough this story has marvelous descriptions of Venice, the MCs weren't nearly as engaging. The h is a self-pitying type who shifts back in forth between martydom, bitchy defensive-insecurity and self-righteousness. The H comes off as a cold, arrogant and superior seducer, then devolves into a vindictive jerk. He eventually evolves--or devolves, you choose--into a groveling, obsessed counselor. Aside from physical attraction and self-imposed celibacy, I could not understand [...]

    • It is always traumatic and gut-wrenching when your child is having some sort of medical crisis and it must be even more so when it happens in a foreign country where you don't speak the language, but Nell's reaction to her unconscious child being handed over to a doctor, who fairly quickly identifies himself as such, is just too much. The author spends the first three chapters of the book on this situation and of course it is revisited when Nell and Luca meet again 8 or 9 years later. The second [...]

    • Wow, no good mother on earth (real or fictional) would do what Nell did. Yes she had apparently had a traumatic experience with doctors, but the writer wasted chapters showing how she was actively preventing the doctor from treating her unconscious daughter! And she was so angry all the time. All the time. She was such a dislikable character I couldn't understand why Luca would be attracted to her. What a waste.

So, when they cross paths years later can they forget the past and start fresh and take a chance on love?I found this book to be quite forgettable. I didn't like either character much, and that made it rather hard for me to enjoy the story. The plot wasn't bad, but was marred by the characters. I hate to say it, but I'd sugge [...]

    • Es una historia simple y las inseguridades de ambos los hace actuar como adolescentes pero quería algo ligero para leer y esto es tan ligero como leer una revista 😁 ideal para un fin de semana largo en el que solamente queres leer mucho.
