    • Read through most of this a while ago but never finished it until recently. In terms of ZA fiction it is pretty darn good but truthfully this whole genre is getting pretty depressing especially if I consider where I live - the People's Republic of Massachusetts. If any real apocalyptic event (EMP, solar flare, etc.) occurred, my family would be totally hosed. It might be worth picking up the sequels, but I think I need to be moving on to something more lighter.

    • Good storytellingFull of action and mayhem, Winchester:Over kept me entertained enough to overlook the mediocre writing, which suffered mainly from repetitive and redundant phrasing. (That's not as faint praise as it sounds since I'm a professional editor.) I would have thought the zombies apocalypse was done to death, but this book had some unusual elements that made it well worth the read.

    • Winchester: Over is the first book in the new Winchester Undead zombie series written by Dave Lund. The world has been attacked by China with a very old virus that has been manipulated into turning people into the walking dead. At the same time, China hit everyone with an EMP attack that wiped out all electronics, communication, utilities, etc. Bexar and his two best friends, Jack and Malachi have planned for a disaster. They quickly set their plan in motion and get their families on the road to [...]

    • This is the first book of the Winchester Undead series. I originally started reading this book looking for editing problems I became so wrapped up in the story that I only found one in the entire book. The truth was it wasn’t even an error it was a term I wasn’t familiar with. So first of all I would like to issue a little caution warning about citing editing errors in a review. We are introduced to Bexar (pronounced Bear) Reed and his family, he and his life long friends are preppers and are [...]

    • I have a love/hate relationship with zombie apocalypse stories. They seem a bit overdone, but each one finds a way to keep me intrigued, nonetheless. Winchester: Over had me hooked pretty early on. I was enthralled by the characters will to survive and the crazy twists and turns that keep coming their way. This will be the reason I continue to read these books - to see who survives, and how. It took me a while to grasp the language of the story. Lund has a police background and tends to use mili [...]

    • This well written book extolls the virtues of being prepared for any possible situation as these three families have done. Cleverly coming together to put together a hidden stash of supplies to include weapons, food, and such to help them get through the immediate fallout. Sadly, no one thought about the routes that would have to be taken to get to the hidden site. Even the government’s failsafe plan was not the best, although their faith was placed in a man of honor who is doing his best to e [...]

    • A different book to what I was expecting, but still an enjoyable read. While some of the things that the characters do in the book had me asking "Why? Why don't you have suppressors for your guns?" "Why? Why if you are preppers, why don't you have a generator/solar panels/battery powered 12v car fridge?" For the most part, the things they do make sense, and the tension they were feeling was palpable. In the end, I was hoping that the bikers would somehow all be killed before Jack and Sandra died [...]

    • An exciting novelWinchester: Over is an exciting start to what I hope is a long series. The zombie stories I like best have characters I can relate to and who feel real to me. These characters are well developed and likeable and had me rooting for them the entire story. There are two storylines that end up connecting in the end in a believable way. The pace picks up speed as the book goes and I feel the pacing was good. There is a good amount of zombie action but the characters stay the main foc [...]

    • Winchester: OverDave LundNow I know why there are so many great reviews. This is a very exciting, fast paced , complex story of a small group of friends that have been "prepping". Their planning has paid off in some ways. They encounter the undead, a motorcycle gang, then manage to contact someone who is still with the government, but very far away. The twists that Mr. Lund has incorporated will keep you reading. There is no way to write everything that is good about this story. I was given an A [...]

    • OkThis is a well written well edited book. However, in my opinion not worth what I paid for it.The storyline is like all the restbug out, military, & crazy bikers. Plus thousands of zombies in herds heading their way.No stand out moments for me & I don't feel like paying more money to read the next two books.I really hate to denigrate any author's hard work, but I was just not satisfiedrry

    • WinchesterThis was a very very good book lots of action lots of suspense I couldn't put it down . And I had a lot of detail but not so much to get you off of it . And they were losing a lot of people sad . And all the love they had It keep them going . That's what made this book so good .

    • Winchester Undead Book 1This book has a great plot but I am not a person that likes a lot of technical gun jargon. The technical aspects of the book are just too deep for me. Great story though.

    • This book totally captivated My Little Zombie Heart!! I love the characters. The Zombies are perfect, just the right amount of "Gross out!" Totally stalled the last 30 pages because I didn't want it to end!!! So Excited for Book 2!!!!

    • Awesome zombie fiction. This was a great read, fast paced, interesting characters and leaves you wanting more. I read it twice before posting a review it was that good.

    • Great ReadI stayed up entirely too late to finish this book, but I could not put it down. It was a fast-paced story that left me anxious for the sequel.
