My goal is to give you stories to transport you to another time, another place, where you can enjoy adventure and romance, thrill to trials and challenges, uncover secrets and solve mysteries, and delight in a happy ending.I ve been telling stories all my life making up serial tales to amuse my friends and children, imagining sequels to books that have moved me and left me wanting , occasionally submitting short stories to magazines and the radio, starting than a dozen novels set in different times and places.I have devoted most of the last forty years to a career in commercial writing and raising a large family most recently as grandmother in residence while a daughter was out of action for three years Me and my own personal romantic hero, with whom I have shared those forty years, now live with two cats and frequent visitors in a small town in rural New Zealand.I wrote and published my first historical romance in 2014, and now have the wind in my sails and a head full of strong determined heroines, heroes with the sense to appreciate them, and villains you ll love to loathe.

    • This is the second book I have read by Jude Knight. The first, the novella, Candle’s Christmas Chair was my first introduction to both Jude and her writing, and the impetus for an invitation to join a fledgling group of Regency writers. Her writing somehow manages to be both lush and controlled. She creates lovely, descriptive scenes that open up the place and time without overwhelming with historical detail, and the use of language is period-appropriate and provides an “old-fashioned” fla [...]

    • Bravo Judith Knight!Stephen Redepenning, or Rede as he prefers, is everything readers want in a regency hero: protective, responsible, determined, honest, and in charge. He enters the stage from his previous life as a fur entrepreneur in Canada with more than his share of pain and grief. His wife and children have been murdered and he is determined to have vengeance, or as he insists, justice. If one hero satisfies, the author gives us more: John Price, Rede’s heroic right-hand man; the wounde [...]

    • Great read!Set in the early 19th century, it is not my usual era (I focus on the Tudors), but it was a wonderful time. I had forgotten how I much I enjoy Regency Era fiction, with its gallant men and strong women. And Jude Knight adds a mystery to boot.I am in awe of the author’s plotting, how she weaves the plotlines together in a carefully building crescendo. I am in the middle of a much simpler book, so I well know how difficult it is to bring these story elements together properly. In all, [...]

    • Best Selling Author, Jude Knight, does it again folks, with A Farewell to Kindness! Congratulations, Jude Knight on this glorious day of your release!! A Farewell to Kindness opens up with the drunken Earl George Redepenning entering into his living quarters, where he is met by a flying arrow. A shocked and stumbling George sees a Lady in his quarters who threatens to kill him if he does not meet her demands. He killed her brother and left her destitute to tend to her sisters’ and children. Up [...]

    • The writing is refreshing! Some books I read are just too obvious. I can figure out the good and bad guys right away and that gets rather tedious. This book, however, kept me guessing, kept me wondering and wanting to find out how it all turns out. The scene settings were well written, I felt the level of description, whether it be clothing or furniture, even places, was very well done. Not too much to be distracting, but just enough that I could picture what the author was describing, but, enou [...]

Yet they both seem to be drawn to each other.Jude Knight writes in such a way that her words wrap around you and sucks you right into the middle of her world. • Stephen Edward John (Rede) Redepenning, 8th Earl of Chirbury is bent on revenge or justice for the deaths of his wife and daughters in Canada three years earlier. • Wonderful book! I really enjoyed this novel set in the 1800s, with the earl Rede Redpenning and the lovely widow Anne. There are moments of suspense and a mystery to solve of the murder of the earl's first family. There are times with romance and the growing love of this couple. I liked Anne's family and all of the daily matters and the shocking events in their lives. It's an enjoyable story that I couldn't wait to get back to when I had other responsibilities to tend to. I highly recommend this [...]

    • From the first page, Jude Knight takes the reader on an adventure that doesn’t stop until the end. When Rede and Anne meet its tension and wondering how these two are going to get together. I love the opening scene between these two.I did get a bit lost with the minor characters thrown in. Sometimes, the pace of the novel was too fast and I wish the plot would have slowed down a bit. It also felt like the story was too short - another 50+ pages narrowed in on the hero & heroine would have [...]

    • It's with the proofreader as I write this comment. It's my first full-length baby, so I love it, of course. I may feel differently in a few weeks when it's released! On pre-release 2 March, and published 1 April.

    • Loved it. All the characters are so alive and it's a really good story. A page Turner. Can't wait got the next one on this series to be published!

    • I'm not sure where Jude Knight keeps coming up with the ideas for her books, but I am so glad that she does. Each one is unique and different. This one has a main plot with several other subplots. Jude includes an explanation of each character at the beginning of the book. I referred to it several times as I was turning each page. I found Anne Forsythe to be engaging and sincere. Her only concern is keeping her sisters and daughter safe. Rene is looking for revenge for the killing of his family, [...]

    • 4.5 stars! Impeccably researched, Farewell to Kindness is a well-written Regency story set in and around the Gloucestershire village of Longford. It details the love story of the charming hero, Stephen Redepenning or Rede, the newest Earl of Chirbury and the engaging heroine, the mysterious widow, Mrs. Anne Forsythe, who lives rent free in one of the earl’s cottages with her young daughter and three sisters. I really enjoyed following the developing romance between Rede and Anne—it was both [...]

    • Poor ending ruined what could have been a great book. Killing one of the main characters off at the end of the book just ruined the whole thing for me. Seriously bummed me out. And the character that was killed off, it wasn't necessary to the storyline to kill this character.
