    • OH MY GOODNESS. ALL the romance, ALL right here.Remember how I said at the beginning of the month that I needed to make more time for romance books in my life? Well, this YA/new adult title (and for grown ups too!) just completely proved me right and WRECKED me. The author sent me a copy because I am hosting a release post for the sequel next Monday and I figured I’d give it a shot. Ha! I completely inhaled it and finished it this am after starting it at 8 pm last night - I LOVED it. It’s 10 [...]

    • * 5 You Belong with Me stars * This book was a reminiscence of my younger days and it brings back memories of me singing along to Taylor Swift's songs - out of tune, might I add - , back before she turned into a pop culture sensation, back when she was just the girl next door country singer that all 15-year-olds could relate to. Each chapter was written with one of Taylor's song as the title and also the inspiration, and here I was thinking to myself: "Finally! I'd be able to see read Taylor's l [...]

    • “You’ve always been more his than mine.” Oh, where do I begin with my review? It's going to feel and probably read a lot like rambling because that's how my thought process is right now after just finishing My Life as a Country Album. I kind of had that foreshadowed 'oh no' vibe almost from the beginning and usually I would have put the book down, but these characters wouldn't let me. It's a coming of age YA story about Cami and Jake and each chapter is linked to a Taylor Swift song that c [...]

After all, she’s been his since before she was born. Cam has grown up literally next to Jake. They live next door and share a tree house. • I have to admit this was really cute. What originally caught my attention to this book was that the author used Taylor Swift songs as the chapter titles but I was not sure if I was going to enjoy the book itself but I was wrong. I felt like in the beginning Cam was a bit much, however, as the story moved on it came together perfectly. The author did a beautiful job of telling Jake and Cam’s story from beginning to end. The story was brought to life so that the reader could really feel every em [...]

    • READ. THIS. BOOK.I rarely cry. Books especially rarely make me cry. Sure, I might get a little emotional. I might wipe one lone tear from my eye. But I never cry. I never have an all-out ugly blubber-fest, but this book? This book did that very thing to me, and I will always remember it for that. This book crushed my soul in the most beautiful way. These beautiful poetic words, expertly composed by the wonderful L.J. Evans, successfully created that pit of despair only brought on by loss, and sh [...]

    • Wow. I am still a bit of a mess over this one. I finished it at 2am and now, twelve hours later, I am still thinking about it with tears forming in my eyes. This was an emotional journey told with absolute raw honesty. Being inside Cam's head I could relate to all that she went through, from a young kid to a mature woman, her struggles to fit in, to really be seen by the boy that was always at her side I felt like I knew her, was friends with her, or could even be her, LJ's writing was that good [...]

    • "You've always been more his than mine."Omg, this book tore my heart out and stomped on it, but I loved it. I absolutely loved it. There's a reason Indie authors deserve more attention, and this book is the perfect example why. I wouldn't have even heard of it if I didn't see it was free on my kindle. We all know I'm not the biggest fan of using my ereader, but something told me to download it and save it for later.I gave it a shot this weekend, and stayed up WAY passed my bedtime for two nights [...]

    • Ms. Evans took my breath away. She took my heart and soul and rearranged it with the lyrical fluidity of Jake and Cami's journey. This is a story that will stay with you. It will grab your heart and captivate it not only whilst you are reading itbut afterwards, too. There are phrases that will stay with you especially if you are from the south or have ever lived in the south. She paints pictures that you'll see in your mind with her words. She appeals to the reader through all the five senses. S [...]

    • If a book can emotionally move me, then by far this is the book. My life as a country album brought me to tears, had me reading when I should have been sleeping. The songs linked to the book was such a remarkable way to play out a beautiful story. The story of Camdyn and Jake moved me on so many levels, from page one it was like I knew how it was going to play out but I wanted to witness every moment. I felt like I was living there story as a spectator and was going on for the ride. I felt every [...]

    • I absolutely loved this book! From the beginning, I was hooked on Cam and Jake's story. I loved how the author took us on a journey of their lives together-- through all their ups and downs-- starting with their friendship early on and leading to their young love! Their story is filled with love, commitment, and heartbreak, and it is one I will not forget. I recommend this to anyone who enjoys coming of age stories, stories of love, or anyone who wants to read about the strong connection between [...]

    • Great ReadThis is not a book that I would normally pick up and read, but was recommended by a friend. I enjoyed the book the whole way through! There is great character development that pulls you right in.

    • Wow. Just Wow. I've had to sit a few days on my review because I seriously had a case of the book funks after finishing this. I got a recommendation/bullied into reading it from an author friend who said it was the best and most heart wrenching book she's read in a long while. Now I usually avoid these books, not just because I don't read much YA, but I kind of want my absolute clear HEA at the very end, you know? And who has times to shed buckets worth of tears. But I went in. And I was consumed [...]

    • Heart wrenching and beautiful storytelling!!!! I swear I can smell the summer waters of the lake and feel the sunshine on my face while I journey through the lives of these two amazing characters. I laughed, I cried, and found hope I wasn't expecting. This book will haunt you for days and will make you wish you could relive your childhood summers. I would give this more than five stars if I could! I am so in love with Jake and Cam!

    • I downloaded this book on my kindle because @theloudlibrarylady loved it and part of my New Years Resolution was to read more in this genre because I know it is my one weak area in reading. All opinions are my own. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 My Life As A Country Album by LJ Evans. Let me start by saying I dislike romance novels so to score a 5 for me in this genre says enough. This self published book has songs tied into it that relate to the story in the book and since I am a country music fan this m [...]

    • Jodie's Review“Sweet tea and stories both take time.” This book got me in the feels thru music, the way the author connected a story thru song was something I wasn’t prepared for but it was pure perfection. It made the characters emotions and feelings stronger and it made me sob like a baby even harder, I swear. This is a heart wrenching love story that haunted me long after I stopped reading and is one of those books once you start you can’t just walk away from. Cam and Jake were real t [...]

    • WOW! You know when you are recommended a book and you can't wait to start it so you fly through it and then wish you hadn't read it because you want to go back and read it all again? That is exactly how I feel. L.J. has done a magnificent job with how she portrayed the story and all the feels that it gives you. I was pre-warned so I feel like you should know too that there are going to be tears, make sure you have lots of tissues and some ice cream on hand. I just don't even know how to adequate [...]

    • This is an incredibly beautiful story of love and loss. Reading this too me on journey of emotions and brought back so many memories of my own childhood and teenage years. I fell in love with the characters immediately. The story is well written and the characters are relatable and real. This is my first book by this author but definitely won't be my last. The story was so beautiful and moving. I recommend this to everyone who loves young love and coming of age stories. Be prepared to laugh, fal [...]

    • Wow, this is a debut novel from this author, and I am absolutely amazed!! This is Jake and Cami’s story, and what a rollercoaster journey it is. This is a beautifully written story, which is heart-wrenching, and emotional. I was hooked from the very beginning, and this is one of those stories that stay with you for a long time after. I cannot wait to read more of this author’s work, as she has raised the bar with this novel; Brilliant work!!

    • My life as a country albumTruly heartwarming and heartbreaking at the same time. This is a book you feel as well as read. I recommend it to everyone of any age!

    • I finished this book days and days ago. I didn't feel like I could do a review justice, what with THE SCORES OF ENDLESS TEARS IN MY EYEBALLS getting in the way. I've never felt such a lag in energy after finishing a book. I had serious moping to do. This Review was why I picked up this YA book. I love when I see a book being loved and talked about so much that I have to get in on the action as well.God. What can I say, except you're missing out if you don't give My Life as a Country Album a chan [...]

    • This is the first YA book I have read in a long while, and I both loved and hated it at the same time. I loved it because the story is heartbreakingly beautiful. I hated it because it ripped me to shreds so much that I had to cling to my husband for a cuddle for a while afterwards. LJ Evans is unbelievably talented and has written Cami & Jake’s story to the tune of country music. I fell in love with Cami from the very beginning, you can relate to her teenage girl problems on a personal lev [...]

    • You’re going to ugly cry. You’re going to ugly cry. This is my first book by this author. It’s definitely a unique style of writing. Being a Swift fan I probably cried a little harder than I should have. You’re going to laugh, you’re going to fall in love with the characters as they fall in love. And maybe you’re going to be emotionally invested. And then maybe you’re going to have hope. But you are going to ugly cry.

    • Thank you, LJ Evans I chose the 5 star rating only because it is the highest available. The book was well edited and proofread, unlike the majority of anything I've read in the last year. And the story itself? I enjoyed it immensely. Smiles were frequent in the beginning as I got to know Cami. The last part was so emotional, tears fell. It has been a long time since an author so thouroghly brought me into the story. I will definitely recommend this novel to my friends.

    • The plot was kind of predictable but I still really enjoyed it. While I don't love every song by Taylor Swift I can totally understand why L.J. Evans would be inspired by the extreme emotions expressed in Swift's music. I loved the connection between songs and the plot. I would recommend this to any girl looking for a happily ever after with a twist.

    • I read this book in an evening I could not put it down. I cried my eyes out and as soon as Jake became dizzy I knew what was up with him being the same as him. I loved Cami and Jake and I felt myself really drawn to the both of them. You have to read this book it also brought my own fears about some medical things. Amazing book. Emotional and just Wow.

    • Good heavens!! The tears I shed over this book! I'm a crier anyway, I shed at least a tear or two with every book I read. This one had me sobbing! But in the best of ways! I adore books that tear at my heart, that are real! LJ delivered above and beyond! Can't wait to read more from her.

    • Have tissue Such a lovely read of a story of love and life from birth to heartache and how a person deals with that heartache. So much growth in the story and how Cami deals with what life hands her. Beautifully written.
