    • This book is very informational about one thing: shoes. The list of types of shoes goes on and on. However, there is no story. This is just about shoes. This book would be perfect for younger grades. The pictures in the book show many different cultures and activities involving shoes. This would be a great way to teach students about the many functions of a familiar object. This could be perfect for starting a science lesson on engineering new things out of very familiar things.

    • I liked seeing the pictures of shoes around the world. I read this to a kindergarten class to accompany a lesson they were doing about measuring shoes. The kids loved seeing what other people wore for shoes--like shoes made out of straw. Cute book for younger kids to be exposed to other cultures.

    • I thought this book was pretty boring until DD pointed out the pictures, which are photos from around the world that are really beautiful. At the end of the book, there is a short caption that tells about each of the picture, which was interesting.

    • This book was amazing. Color photographs show real people from all over the world, wearing their very different shoes during work and playtime. I was especially amazed by shoes worn to walk up icy mountains. --Flora

    • Minimal text, rhythm and rhyming-- GREAT international pics-- about shoes for all different kinds of purposes.

    • Well illustrated book on shoes. The author includes footwear various cultures and situations. The focus is on shoes with an opportunity to scaffold on the corresponding clothing as well.

    • A rhyming book that encourages students to pair things together. I would use this to introduce a probability lesson or maybe a lesson on pairs. I would incorporate the students' shoes.
